| Summary, etc. | This study aimed to explore the relationship between self-efficacy and family functioning among out-of-school youth (OSY) who are Pantawid beneficiaries.
Conducted in Guipos Municipality, Zamboanga del Sur during the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year, it employed a descriptive correlational research design. A total of 109 individuals, aged 15-18, were selected as respondents. All were out-of-school youth, single, without a live-in partner, and participants in the Pantawid program. The General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) by Schwarzer and Jerusalem (2016) was used to measure self-efficacy. The analysis revealed a Chi-square statistic of 1.3354 with a p-value of 0.5129, indicating no statistically significant relationship between self-efficacy and family functioning at the 0.05 significance level. Despite positive family dynamics, including high levels of warmth, support, and communication, the study found that family functioning did not significantly impact OSY's self-confidence or abilities. These findings suggest that factors such as peer support or external experiences may play a more substantial role in shaping self-efficacy. Based on these results, it is recommended that OSY participate in learning programs to enhance their psychological understanding of family dynamics and re-engage with educational or vocational paths. Local government units should prioritize guidance and counseling services, utilizing tools like surveys and peer group sessions to better support OSY and their families. Further research is needed to explore additional variables influencing self-efficacy and family functioning, including the impact of environmental and socioeconomic factors, and to distinguish between the positive and negative aspects of family functioning for a more comprehensive analysis.

Keyword: Family Functioning, Self-efficacy, Out of School Youth (OSY), Pantawid Beneficiaries |
