This study investigated Slang Use and Vocabulary Competence among
Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies Freshman at J.H Cerilles State College. The study utilized on Social Learning Theory proposed by Albert Bandura (1977) which posits that individuals acquired new behaviors through observation, imitation, and reinforcement. Within the domain of language and communication, the theory suggests that linguistic expressions, including slang words, are learned by observing and imitating the language use of others, with a particular emphasis on social influence from peers and significant figures.
